NWFP Minister for Zakat and Ushr, Haji Zarshaid Khan Advocate has strictly directed the concerned authorities of Zakat Department to ensure transparent distribution of Zakat money among the deserved people instead of utilizing only paper work so that second installment could be released for onward distribution across the province.
He was speaking to the District Zakat Officers from Swat, Buner, Shangla and Kohistan Districts in a meeting convened to discusse matters relating to distribution of Zakat funds in their respective districts.
During meeting, the District Zakat Officers apprised the Provincial Minister regarding distribution of current installment of Zakat at their district detail.

The Zakat Officer of Kohistan District, on this occasion informed the Minister about the distribution of Zakat money in 12 seminaries, three Mora Technical Centres and of Dowry funds.

The Provincial Minister while talking to the participants of the meeting urged them to ensure early distribution of the first installment of Zakat fund in District Kohistan so that second installment could be released to the District. The concerned District Officer on this occasion assured the meeting that the amount in hand would be distributed among the said institutions of Kohistan till end of the February next.

The Minister directed the officers to display the lists of deserved persons on conspicuous places adding that every penny of Zakat amount should be utilized in transparent manner and said that no leniency on their part would be tolerated in future.

A meeting of the standing committee on Revenue Department was held at the Provincial Assembly Secretariat here on Tuesday with MPA Fazal Shakoor Khan in the chair. NWFP Minister for Revenue Syed Murid Kazim, Deputy Speaker Provincial Assembly Khushdil Khan, MPAs Ghani Dad Khan, Raja Faisal Zaman, Ateefur Rehman, Abdul Sattar Khan, Imtiaz Khan, Muhammad Zahir Shah Khan, Mst. Yasmin Pir Muhammad Khan, Mst. Tabassum Shams, Additional Secretary Provincial Assembly Ghulam Sarwar, Senior Member Board of Revenue and DOR Peshawar were also present on this occasion.

The meeting discussed at length the induction of officials in the revenue department. On this occasion, Minister for Revenue Murid Kazim threw lights on the rules and regulations so far made for the induction of officials in the Revenue Department.
MPA Ateefur Rehman said that some illegal appointments of patwaris in District Peshawar were made without following the proper rules and regulations where the Provincial Minister for Revenue Murid Kazim briefed the members of the committee about the induction of patwaries and other officials in the Revenue Department.
