Mian pay tributes to Haqqani Pukhtoonkhwa Minister for Information, Transport and Inter-Provincial Coordination, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of veteran journalist and known columnist Irshad Ahmad Haqqani. The Minister termed his death as an “irreparable loss” and paid rich tributes to his professionalism, and services to the nation. Haqqani who also served as Minister for Information during an interim government has been a creative writer and a person with a clear vision and strong views on the challenges confronting the nation. Mian Iftikhar Hussain prayed to Almighty Allah to shower His Blessings on the departed soul and for courage to his family, friends and well wishers to bear this loss with equanimity.

HANDOUT NO.2 PESH: DT: 25/01/2010 Zahir Shah shocks over Haqqani’s death The NWFP Minister for Health and Provincial President Pakistan Peoples’ Party Syed Zahir Ali Shah has expressed his profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of former Federal Information Minister and renowned columnist Irshad Ahamd Haqqani. The minister in his condolence message while expressing heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family paid glowing tributes to late Haqqani for his remarkable services especially in the filed of journalism. He said that the country has lost an experienced and seasoned journalist Syed Zahir Ali shah prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the members of the bereaved family to bear this loss with fortitude. Meanwhile, the minister also prayed for the departed soul of the sister of renowned journalist Arif Yousafzai and showed heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family. ------------------
HANDOUT NO.3 PESH: DT: 25/01/2010 NOTIFICATION The Government of NWFP has on the recommendations of Provincial Selection Board ordered the promotion of Dr. Amin Jan, Associate Professor Pediatrics (B-19) to the post of Prof: Pediatrics (B-20) on regular basis and posted him at KMC/KTH, Peshawar with immediate effect. He will be on probation for a period of one year. It was officially notified here today.

HANDOUT NO.4 PESH: DT: 25/01/2010 NOTIFICATION The Government of NWFP has on the recommendations of NWFP Public Service commission ordered the appointment of Dr. Jehanzeb Khan S/O Najeebullah Khan, presently working as Assistant Prof: Forensic Medicine (temporary) at Gomal Medical College D.I.Khan as Assistant Prof: Forensic Medicine (B-18) at Gomal Medcial College D.I.Khan on regular basis with immediate effect. His services will be governed under NWFP Civil Servants Act 1973 as amended time by time. He is directed to assume charge within 30 days after the issuance of this notification failing which his appointment shall be treated as cancelled. It was officially notified here today.

HANDOUT NO.5 PESH: DT: 25/01/2010 NOTIFICATION The Government of NWFP has on the recommendations of NWFP Public Service Commissioner ordered the appointment of Dr. Muhammad Nisar Khan S/O Haibat Khan of FR D.I.Khan as Senior Registrar Medicine (B-18), Dr. Fauzia Anbreen D/O Rustam Khan Kundi of D.I.Khan as Senior Registrar Gynae (B-18) and Dr. Dastageer Waheed S/O Abdul Waheed of D.I.Khan as Senior Registrar Surgery (B-18) at Gomal Medical College D.I.Khan on regular basis with immediate effect. Their services will be governed under NWFP Civil Servants Act 1973 as amended time by time. HANDOUT NO.6 PESH: DT: 25/01/2010 NWFP Minister for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Syed Aqil Shah has announced a cash amount of Rs. 50,000/- for the treatment of ailing widow of late Maulana Abdul Qadir, a renowned scholar and pioneer of Pushto Academy Peshawar University. He also announced monthly stipend of Rs. 3,000/- for the widow till she is alive. The announcement to this effect, Syed Aqil Shah made during the visit of Shafee Market Peshawar Cantt. where he enquired about the health of ailing widow of Maulana Abdul Qadir, residing there in a rented and dilapidated building. Provincial Culture Minister apologized from all the scholars on behalf of government for delaying in assisting the widow and said that he would talk to NWFP Chief Minister regarding her problems so that a small house for the dwelling of widow of late Maulana abdul Qadir could be arranged where she could lead her remaining life peacefully. The minister also expressed his sorrow over the fact that despite a number of students of late Maulana Abdul Qadir, the widow of Maulana was still living a life of loneliness and residing in a dilapidated rented building. He also apologized for not enquiring about the health of widow of Maulana abdul Qadir earlier as a provincial minister for culture although she lived in his constituency PF.4.

HANDOUT NO. 7 /HU/AQ/ES/DT: 25-1-2010 A meeting of the standing committee on Procedure and Conduct of Business Rules, Privileges and Implementation of Government Assurances was held at the Provincial Assembly’s Secretariat here on Monday with Deputy Speaker Provincial Assembly Khushdil Khan in the chair. MPAs Waqar Ahmad, Israrullah Khan Gandapur, Maj. ® Baseer Ahmad Khattak, Taj Muhammad Tarand, Additional Secretary Provincial Assembly Ghulam Sarwar, Officers and officials of the concerned departments were also present on this occasion. The meeting reviewed various privilege motions while first privilege motion was moved by MPA Ateefur Rehman about the Project Director Auqaf Department, where the members of the committee took serious notice of his absence from the meeting.The second privileged motion was moved by MPA Waqar Ahmad Khan about the derogatory attitude of SHO Tatara Hayatabad Peshawar, who kept the relative of MPA in custody without verification, while the privilege motion of MPA Waqar Ahmad Khan was postponed upto the next meeting which would be held on 27th of January 2010. The meeting in its third phase moved the privileged motion of MPA Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand about the attitude of Divisional Post Master General Ahsan, while the members of the meeting took back their privilege motion after the excuse of the concerned officer. The members of the meeting also discussed and took back the privilege motion of MPA Munawar Khan Marwat against the Deputy Manager Operations Lakki Marwat due to the absence of the concerned MPA.

The NWFP Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of senior journalist and columnist Hussain Ahmad Haqani who breathed his last the other day. In a condolence message he paid rich tributes to him on his meritorious services for the cause of constructive journalism in the country and prayed for his eternal peace as well as expressed deep sympathies with members of the bereaved family. -----------------
